The Intrinsic Beauty of Thrown Away Things

I learned something about the ordinariness of things and how there are intrinsic beauties in ordinary thrown-away things if you just meditate on them, and slowly turn them until some facet of their personality reveals itself … Morandi was a contemplative man. He sat with these humble objects and went into them ... the sense of interiority was important to him. He was, in a way, espousing a quieter, slower time. And don’t we all need that today?
