I write mainly for curiosity, to clear my mind on some vexed or obscure topic, and never repeat myself if I can avoid it. I first chose to be a literary hobo because this life promised me the security and independence needed for pursuing a secret vice: poetry. That it has done. Or put it another way: Prose books are the show dogs I breed and sell to support my cat.
